While traveling to Austria, Vienna is one of the most popular destinations.įor those traveling for business and tourism, Vienna International Airport is the preferred choice when visiting Vienna. Planning a trip to Vienna? Located in Austria, Vienna is a well-known and vibrant city. Overall, I had a satisfactory stay, the staff were great, but I really do think that the hotel should rethinks the bed and amenities in the room. The supermarket option doesn’t work that well if there’s no way to heat food though. There’s several supermarkets, restaurants and cafes close by. That’s not really a problem because it’s close to several tram or metro stations, and then only a short journey into the centre. Location wise, the hotel is not in the tourist district. The cleaning staff did a fine job of cleaning the room and bathroom every day, so kudos for that. There was a chair, but no table to work on. The double bed took up pretty much the entire room. I’ve stayed in Vienna before and pretty sure these are provided as standard in hotel rooms. The room didn’t have much in the way of amenities either, no coffee, tea, kettle normal things provided hotels in this sector of the market. Considering that Pension Stadhalle is hardly at the bottom end of the budget market, surely dispensers for liquid soap or shampoo can be provided. Okay I understand that there’s a drive to be eco friendly and stop providing those miniature bottles. All the toiletries were provided except soap and shampoo. I slept fine using only one side of the bed, but it really begs the question why there’s a double bed in the first place. Even then I had the treat the bed as a single anyway because the duvet was for a single and there was only one pillow. There’s a very obvious gap in the middle which made sleeping there impossible. The room came with a double bed, but it wasn't a real double bed. A bit small, but functional and everything worked fine. I could not move without touching the shower curtain. I’m not that big, but even I thought the shower was cramped. The shower was separated from the rest of the bathroom with a curtain. The bathroom looked like one of those cabins you see on a ship. ![]() Pension Stadhalle seems to be former apartments converted into hotel rooms. The reception staff friendly, welcoming and could not have been nicer. Pretty straightforward checking in as I'd already booked online. Stayed for 3 nights in room 8 To check in, it turns out you need to go to another building 2 minutes down the same street at Boutiquehotel Stadthalle. The hotel had hardly any ammenties at all !!! Really no fridge? Really? I did like breakfast but the eggs were runny and one day they gave me a hard time because I actually like my eggs cooked and not half raw!! OJ is canned and horrid but overall a tasty breakfast lay out and good service from the food staff!! ![]() I paid around $110 USD a night room was perhaps worth $80 USD considering the severe lack of any ammenties!!!! I would NEVER stay there again!!! Service was passable. They didnt even have icebuckets in the room. But they uniformly decided to turn off the AC because they are too cheap to pay the bill!! Room was also slightly dusty and had some scratches in the walls. There is a safe downstairs and to be fair breakfast was tasty. GROSS!!! I have perhaps stayed at 11 hotels in my life total that had no refridgarator!!!Really? They cut corners EVERYWHERE. No shampoo, no bar of soap, no toothbrushes, just some gross multi pourpose body cleaner. There is a mirror also situated outside the shower room facing into the shower so if you’re sitting on the beds you can see someone in the shower in the mirror reflection so if you’re travelling with friends or family and are not comfortable or close with them I wouldn’t recommend staying here as it’s all open and you will see them showering and getting changed etc as there’s no privacy. Although we booked a room with 2 twin beds as I was travelling with a family member the shower does not have a door of any kind as is glass so you can see the person you’re travelling with showering if you walked past to go to the toilet. The toilet is separate to shower as with many places however the sink is also separate from the toilet so you can’t wash your hands after using the loo if someone is using the shower. The rooms weren’t the cleanest but they did for a short city break. There is an on-site bar with limited drinks and again the staff were a little rude as if they didn’t want to serve us and even shouted at another guest. Good location as it’s around 2-3 minute walk from the central train station in Vienna, the staff were a little un friendly however this might of just been down to a culture difference. ![]()
